Information Management and Special Projects Division
The Information Management and Special Projects Division, is responsible for
the development, implementation, and maintenance of Information Management and
Information Protection (IM/IP) policies and procedures throughout the Department
of Education in order to provide quality IM services to its clients.
Additionally, the Division is responsible for coordinating the activities of the
federal/provincial funding agreements surrounding the Community Access Program
(CAP) in which the Department of Education is a key stakeholder.
Services
- Administering the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act
(ATIPPA) for the Department of Education.
- Work with departmental staff to develop Information Management policies
and procedures, allowing for increased accountability and efficiency in
serving its clients.
- Implement and maintain electronic records managements solutions for the
department.
- Responsible for coordinating the Office of the Citizen’s
Representative requests
- Maintain the Department of Education’s Registry
CAP Services
- Ongoing delivery and support of both the
Community Access Program
(CAP)
and the CAP Youth Initiative (CAP YI).
- CAP was launched in 1995 to provide Canadians with affordable access to
the Internet and the skills to use it effectively. With nearly 150 public Internet access sites, CAP is now responding to the challenge of ensuring
that the nationwide network of sites is maintained and continues to benefit
the citizens of this province.
- CAP YI provides our province’s youth with paid internships at CAP sites.
These internships allow youth to build valuable skills while working in
either rural or urban areas of Newfoundland and Labrador
