Full-day Kindergarten

Kindergarten is currently non-mandatory in Newfoundland and Labrador and is offered as a full day program in public schools throughout the province.

Infrastructure, resources, and supports required for the universal full-day kindergarten program, were implemented September 2016.

Consistent with best practice and research, the program is based on curriculum outcomes introduced and met through full days of play-based learning.

“Completely Kindergarten (2010)” is a play-based curriculum used as the basis of instruction for the full-day kindergarten program.
