    Summer Program in French for Grade 9 Students

    Grade 9 students can apply for a bursary to attend a 3-week summer program at Campus Notre-Dame-du-Foy (Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Québec). The Grade 9 program is open to all Grade 9 students, regardless of their level of French (beginner to advanced). Bursaries are paid directly to the institution and cover tuition, registration fee, room and board, instructional materials and all compulsory activities. Bursary recipients are responsible for their own transportation costs and pocket money.

    Summer Program in French for Level I Students

    Grade 10 students can apply for a bursary to attend a 4-week French summer program at Collège Saint-Charles-Garnier, Laval University campus, Québec City. The Grade 10 program is open to all Grade 10 students, regardless of their level of French (beginner to advanced). Bursaries are paid directly to the institution and cover tuition, registration fee, room and board, instructional materials and all compulsory activities. Bursary recipients are responsible for their own transportation costs, pocket money and for the cost of optional excursions.

    Explore Bursary Program (French Second Language)

    Explore is for Grade 11 and 12 students as well as post-secondary students who wish to learn or improve their knowledge of the other official language and discover the culture of a different region. To apply, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada. This five-week program is an opportunity to discover the culture of a different region and meet new people while improving your language skills. Anglophones can experience French culture, learn the French language and travel to another region of Canada. Bursaries are paid directly to the institution and cover tuition fees for the courses, instructional materials, meals and accommodations, workshops, and other mandatory activities are offered to participants and are available in the spring or summer in over 19 institutions all accros Canada.     Destination Clic - Programme de bourse (français langue première) / Destination Clic Bursary Program (French as a first language)

    Destination Clic est un programme de bourses d’été à l’intention des élèves francophones de 8e et 9e année qui fréquentent une école francophone et qui résident en dehors du Québec. La bourse couvre les droits de scolarité, le matériel didactique, les repas et l’hébergement. Elle est versée directement à l’institution. Pendant trois semaines, vous partirez à la découverte d’une autre facette de la francophonie au Canada par l’entremise de cours, d’ateliers, de jeux et d’excursions locales distrayantes tout en faisant de nouvelles rencontres et en tissant de nouvelles amitiés avec des francophones de l’ensemble du Canada.     Destination Clic is a 3-week summer bursary program for young francophones in Grade 8 and 9 living in a minority setting (residing outside of Quebec). The bursary covers tuition fees, instructional materials, meals, and accommodation. It is paid directly to the institution. For three weeks, you will become a part of la francophonie au Canada through classes, workshops, games, visits to fun local attractions, all while meeting new people and making new friends with French speakers from across the country.     Student Fellowship Program (French second language)

    The Student Fellowship Program aims to provide post-secondary students with the opportunity to pursue French language studies within Canada. In order to be eligible, applicants must register as a full-time student and attend a French language post-secondary institution in Canada on a full-time basis and must take a minimum of 4 courses in French per semester. Fellowships are awarded in the amount of $2,000 per semester for a maximum of four (4) years.

    Odyssey Language Assistant Program / Programme de moniteurs de langues Odyssée

    The Odyssey Program is for postsecondary students or graduates who are interested in travelling and discovering other regions of Canada. It is a full-time paid work experience where anglophones and francophones travel and work in a province where the other official language is spoken. Language assistants work with teachers to encourage students to improve their knowledge of the other official language and its culture. They work 25 hours a week from the beginning of September through to the end of May in classrooms across the country. Visit www.myodyssey.ca for more information and how to apply.

    Le programme Odyssée est destiné aux étudiants postsecondaires ou à ceux qui ont complété leurs études postsecondaires et qui veulent se plonger dans une autre langue et une autre culture et explorer le Canada. Odyssée est une expérience de travail bilingue, rémunérée et professionnelle qui permet aux anglophones et aux francophones de quitter leur province ou territoire de résidence pour voyager dans une province ou un territoire où l’autre langue officielle est parlée. Le rôle d’un moniteur de langue est de travailler avec les enseignants et encourager les jeunes à approfondir leur connaissance de l’autre langue officielle et de sa culture. Les moniteurs de langues travaillent 25 heures par semaine, à compter du début du mois de septembre et jusqu’à la fin mai.     Programme de bourse pour étudiants (français langue première) / Francophone Fellowship Program (French First language)

    Ce programme permet aux étudiant(e)s francophones de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador de faire des études postsecondaires dans leur langue maternelle dans un établissement de langue française au Canada. Le montant de la bourse est de 2000$ par semestre jusqu’à un maximum de 5 ans.
    Date limite : la mi-avril

Teachers meeting the eligibility criteria may be selected to receive a Teacher Fellowship to a maximum of $25,000 ($12,500 per semester).

    Grants for school-organized trips / Subvention pour visites scolaires

    This program assists schools in providing Intermediate and Senior High School students with the opportunity to visit St. Pierre and Miquelon (and/or the Francoforum in St.Pierre) or French Canada (Quebec or New Brunswick). Schools that apply can receive funding to assist in covering the costs of the school/class trip. Schools receive a set amount per student (from $90 - $385, depending on the location and program) and per teacher (from $90 - $385, depending on the location) to a maximum amount per school ($2700 - $11,500 depending on the location).
    Application deadline: mid-December

    Ce programme aide financièrement des écoles qui veulent offrir aux élèves des niveaux intermédiaire et secondaire l’occasion de visiter Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon ou des milieux francophones au Québec et au Nouveau-Brunswick. Les écoles participant à ce programme recevront un montant fixe par élève (de 90 $ à 385$, selon la destination et le programme choisis) et par enseignant (de 90 $ à 385$, selon la destination choisie) jusqu’à un maximum par école (de 2700$ à 11 500$ selon la destination et le programme choisis).
